Family secrets - do you have them too?

Family energy has a tendency to repeat itself. You can call it "intergenerational-energy transmission".

What does intergenerational transmission mean? Here is an example through my own story:

When my father was a year and a half old his parents moved from New York to Washington, when I was a year and a half old my parents moved from Jerusalem to a kibbutz, and when my son was a year and a half old we moved to an new apartment (in the same city).

This is a simple example of this concept.

The problems start when the issues are more complex, such as family conflicts or secrets.

Family constellation lets us see how family secrets, even as far back as four or five generations ago, still have an impact on the family in the present generation and dictate a certain way of life.

Just like a black hole – it can be seen, it is felt, its tangible but you can’t touch it – so is the family secret never mentioned, it never gets out, until it eventually becomes a pattern that’s part of you.

This pattern dictates your behavior, your actions and the way you think and speak. In the long run, it harms you and everyone around you.

The energy of secrets is very powerful. Often even more than that of trauma, simply because it’s held by many people. It dictates and controls their lives and they can’t help but abide by it.

This is the reason you should never keep it in you. But then some secrets may shock the entire family – revealing them may cause trauma in itself.
